De Cost engineer
De DACE opleiding tot Certified Cost Engineer omvat alle gebieden van Cost Engineering, maar DACE concludeert net als ICEC dat niet alle taken door één professional worden uitgevoerd en in de Nederlandse praktijk is de Cost Engineer meestal betrokken bij begrotingen en cost control. ICEC omschrijft het als volgt:
“These are typical functions of the Cost Engineer or Quantity Surveyor but not all practitioners in the field perform all of these functions. Many specialize in a limited number of these functions.
The Cost Engineer or Quantity Surveyor provides information by:
• estimating costs and analyzing risk;
• trending and controlling costs and assessing design; and
• documenting costs.”
De Special Interest Groups CEPI, GWW en CEMM richten zich specifiek op de Cost Engineer die werkzaam is in respectievelijk de branches: Proces Industrie, Grond-, Weg- en Waterbouw en de Machinebouw en Maakindustrie.
